Coaching change lifts spirits in Reds camp
Graham was fired as head coach last week after the Brisbane outfit lost their two opening Super Rugby games. Although the losing trend continued against the Rebels this past weekend, Ready feels they are different team under the interim coaches.
"Change is always good," said Ready. "I have been lucky to have Stiles as a head coach at the Brisbane City team and everyone buys into it and looks up to him.
"It is the same with Matt [O'Connor]. He is a real leader and he speaks up and tells you the truth so it's great to have those two."
Ready said there was also some continuity in the Reds squad this year as a number of players have played together in the Nation Rugby Championship with Brisbane City.
"Just to get that experience at another level, which is just above club level, is great. It's a great experience playing with the guys like [Jake]Schatz and [Liam] Gill – guys who have played a lot of Super Rugby games and who have that knowledge," he said.
There were a number of positives the Reds could take out of the 23-25 defeat to the Rebels, one of which was their performance in the scrums.
"We go hard at each other during the week [in training] and reflecting on the weekend it [the scrums] was probably an area where we thought we could rock up and dominate.
"We are looking forward to the match against the Blues and we really want to put an emphasis on our scrumming again because it is our weapon," Ready added.
The Reds play the Blues at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday.
