Concern over McCaw KO

The Crusaders, and indeed the entire New Zealand, will be sweating over the fitness of All Black captain Richie McCaw in the next few days.

The All Black captain, McCaw, suffered a sickening blow to the head in Crusaders' 29-15 win victory over second-from-bottom Blues in a Super Rugby Round 11 match in Christchurch on Saturday.

McCaw was knocked out cold and even though he attempted to stagger to his feet, he was helped from the field in the 64th minute.

He given the compulsory concussion test, after he got his head on the wrong side of a tackle on Blues fullback Lolagi Visinia.

However, McCaw was told not to return, as he failed his test.

Although the All Black legend was seen smiling and talking to his teammates and opponents after the match, the full extent of the injury will only be known in the next few days and it remains to be seen if McCaw will be fit to face Hurricanes next weekend as the seven-time champions strive to seal a play-off place.
