Creevy: Jaguares will be fine
The Argentine side displayed a dynamic game which saw them be rewarded with a hat-trick of tries by centre Jerónimo De la Fuente as well as scores by wings Emiliano Boffelli, Santiago Cordero; replacement Gonzalo Bertranou and a penalty try.
Their goal kicking was on song as Nicolas Sanchez slotted six conversions while Santiago González Iglesias added the other.
"Things were done right and we stepped things up with respect to last week's performance. However, there remains things to polish which we will work on this week but, in general terms I liked the team's performance and we will be fine for the next game.
"It will be essential to improve the defence, increase the speed of the way we play, have more continuity in the game and look to add more variety on attack," Creevy said.
Hat-trick hero De la Fuente echoed his captain's sentiments.
"We had an evolution in the game but we still have to keep correcting things. The Super Rugby competition is very dynamic, more than what was seen in this match with more experienced players. It's great to continue to grow and play with the pace we did but we are equally aware that we still have a lot to work on.
"We have a week to continue our improvements from the Stormers match but the team showed that we are capable of evolving. The team had the dynamic that we are looking for. There were options to play the ball and many spaces were created for the backs to be comfortable and get some tries.
"We are eager and anxious for our [Super Rugby] debut. We want to get off to a good start, gaining confidence as we go through the competition but always with responsibility and humility," De la Fuente stated.
The Jaguares will make their Super Rugby debut on Friday, February 26 against Cheetahs in Bloemfontein. Their first home fixture takes place in Buenos Aires on March, 19 when they host the Chiefs.
