Crusaders' Funnell in hot water

Crusaders hooker Ben Funnell has been cited for a dangerous tackle on Bulls utility forward Grant Hattingh in Christchurch on Saturday.

Funnell is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous Tackling when he made contact with Hattingh at a breakdown during the 60th minute of Crusaders' 41-19 victory against the Bulls at AMI Stadium.

Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play

The Citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Nicholas Davidson QC.
