Crusaders lose future All Black
NEWS: The Crusaders received some bad news ahead of their Super Rugby Aotearoa Round Four match against the Highlanders.
Scott Robertson’s side are set to be without talented young star Cullen Grace (loose forward) for a lengthy period.
“Cullen Grace, 20, injured his right thumb towards the end of the Chiefs game on Sunday,” the Crusaders said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Subsequent investigation showed he has sustained a fracture at the base of his thumb which will require surgery to repair.
“He will undergo surgery today [Tuesday], and his return to play timeframe will be clearer after this procedure.
“We will advise an injury replacement for Cullen when this detail is confirmed.”
The Crusaders are currently sitting in second spot in the standings with two wins from two games.
