Double boost for 'Canes
Powerful Hurricanes loose forwards Faifili Levave and Jack Lam have both chosen to re-sign with the Wellington franchise for 2013.
Levave has been a major contributor to the Hurricanes forward pack this season and having notched up his 50th Super Rugby cap last Friday against the Chiefs, his experience is immense.
He said: "I am stoked to be with the Canes again next season. This year the boys have really stepped up and we will only get better with the more experience we have together. To be a part of that future is exciting."
Lam, who was the Hurricanes Rookie of the Year in 2011, said that it was an easy decision to stay.
"I'm happy to be staying with the Hurricanes. I love this place and couldn't see myself being anywhere else next year," he said.
Coach Mark Hammett was delighted with Levave and Lam's commitment to the franchise.
"Faifili's work rate this year has been massive. He was fourth in the team this season with the amount of tackles made but second when you look in comparison to minutes played.
"Jack is a consistent performer and hard worker on and off the field. He is a big team player and it is great to have him back for 2013.
"We now have all our loose forwards, except Victor who is in discussions with NZRU, signed up for next season which is a great result considering the top form they were in this year," Hammett added.
