Etzebeth doubtful for Sunwolves clash

The 24-year-old injured his calf in a line-out session in training on Monday. Stormers head coach Robbie Fleck said the player will have scans and he will only know more after that.

"It looks like we may have lost Eben [Etzebeth]," said Fleck. "He may be out for this weekend, but I can only confirm that post his scans this evening [Monday].

With Jan de Klerk out for between six to 10 weeks after injuring his foot against the Jaguares, the Stormers will be a little short on lock cover with Pieter-Steph du Toit and JD Schickerling the likely starters on the weekend.

Rynhardt Elstadt, who is set to return to action this weekend, is another lock option for Fleck.

"He does come in the mix. We are looking to reintroduce him into the side, so he does become a genuine lock option for us going forward," said.

Meanwhile, Cheslin Kolbe has been passed fit after suffering a concussion in the Stormers' last game against the Jaguares.
