Foley relieved to 'get over the line'

Waratahs coach Michael Foley couldn’t hide his relief that his team were able to come out on top in their narrow 34-30 victory over the Sharks in Sydney on Saturday.

The Waratahs have found themselves on the losing end of several Super Rugby results so far this season, and were in danger of being the ‘close, but no cigar’ team once again.

However, a late try by Tom Kingston got the home side in front, and the ‘Tahs were able to hold off a final attack from the Sharks to secure only their second win of the campaign.

“There have been a couple of times this season when we have done everything but get it over the line,” Foley admitted.

“But today [Saturday] we hung in there and played for a full 80 minutes, probably for the first time this year, and that was very impressive.”
