Hanekom on the comeback trail

Lions utility back Nicolaas Hanekom is making progress on his knee injury and is expected to be available for selection within the upcoming four weeks.

Hanekom has only featured once off the bench in Round One this season for the Lions and, would be a welcome addition to the midfield, where he could play No.13 or No.12.

The Lions man suffered a fractured fibula against the Sharks in last year's Currie Cup ahead of the play-offs.

The Lions will however be without lock Martin Muller, wing Courtnall Skosan and flyhalf Jaco van der Walt for their crunch match against the Bulls on Saturday.

Muller sustained a calf tear and will not be available for selection this week. He will undergo further tests and scans on Tuesday.

Skosan (right ankle) Van der Walt (fractured cheek bone) will also not be available for selection.
