The 22-year-old debuted for the Chiefs in 2016 against the Crusaders, a year after his provincial debut. In 2017 he won the Brisbane Global Rugby Tens Player of the Tournament. Stevenson’s ability earned him selection in last year’s Maori All Blacks end of year tour on which he debuted.

Stevenson said he is pleased to be able to continue his journey with the Chiefs.

“I am pleased to have re-signed with the Chiefs. It is a great club to be a part of. I play with a good group of guys and there is a great culture here. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” said Stevenson.

Chiefs head coach Colin Cooper said Stevenson is a talented young player with plenty to offer the Chiefs.

“At only 22 years of age he is the future for the Chiefs. We expect he will deliver a number of good performances for our team in the years to come,” said Cooper.
