Jaguares in search of rhythm

Coach Raul Perez is aware that they will need to increase their work rate to be able to compete against the Lions on Friday, in their final pre-season warm-up match.

"We found a tough team [the Stormers], which also already knew. The rate at which the game is reset, the speed in the transition from defence to attack are the things we need to work on this week that will raise our level to match what is needed in the competition.

"To play against Lions, we hope to improve releases, obtaining and being in rhythm game," Perez stated.

The match itself showed glimpses of mastery from both sides while they were equally matches in other phases. The Jaguares showed an improved second half performance but failed to convert that into points.

"We knew it would be tough. We had to put up with our system, we tried to raise our game from all sides, but today was just not our day. A match like this makes us realise that this is Super Rugby, it is unlike anything we've played before and we have realised the contact area is tough.

"We will aim to polish the details against the Lions, but we have had a good start. We will correct all things we were not too good at," Facundo Isa stated.

Fullback Joaquín Tuculet believes they started slowly against the Stormers but they displayed flashes of what they are capable of.

"We started a little off the pace and that cost us. We know we need to adapt quickly by the start the tournament. The delivery, defending set-pieces and our attack had flashes of what we are capable of. We have to do what we did, be self-critical and improve what we did well," Tuculet stated.
