Jantjies benched by Lions
TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Continuity was key when Swys de Bruin named his Lions side to host the Hurricanes in a Round 17 Super Rugby encounter at Ellis Park on Saturday.
The starting line-up is unchanged for this crunch clash, as the coach shows faith in the team that beat the Stormers last weekend.
It means errant Springbok Elton Jantjies will play off the bench, following his ‘clear the air’ meeting with the Lions management earlier this week.
Jantjies did not feature during the Lions’ 41-22 Super Rugby Round 16 victory over the Stormers after being dropped for breaching team protocol.
Lions Rugby Company CEO Rudolf Straeuli confirmed to @rugby365com that the Lions star will be available for selection after they had a ‘clear the air’ meeting on Monday.
Shaun Reynolds will start in the No.10 jersey again.
* Meanwhile Aphiwe Dyantyi has put pen to paper and committed to the Lions until 2021.
Dyantyi has 22 Super Rugby caps for the Lions since his debut in 2018.
