Kings battling with injuries

Davids confirmed that both Edgar Marutlulle and Sithembiso Sithole would not be available for selection ahead of the match against the Lions on the weekend. Marutlulle picked up a knee injury, while Sithole was battling with an elbow injury.

He also confirmed that both starting locks, captain Steven Sykes and JC Astle, who had sustained light concussions during the game against the Bulls, were still being evaluated and a call would be made around their availability on Saturday .

"Both are still being evaluated in line with the head injury protocols by our medical team," he said.

"On the positive side, Thembelani Boli has been cleared and Shane Gates is back at centre."
