Lions get Whiteley boost on tour
SQUAD UPDATE: The Lions have received a massive boost with the return of captain Warren Whiteley.
Whiteley was given the all-clear by the Lions’ medical team after recovering from a pectoral injury and he will join his teammates on their Australasian tour this weekend.
Whiteley was on ‘standby’ in South Africa when the Lions announced their tour squad earlier this week.
The Lions begin their tour with a match against the Brumbies in Canberra on Saturday, which Whiteley will miss.
However, the 31-year-old he should be available for matches against the Chiefs (April 19) and Crusaders (April 26).
