Lions loosie to undergo surgery

INJURY UPDATE: The Lions have confirmed that loose forward Vincent Tshituka will undergo surgery on his injured ankle on Wednesday.

Tshituka picked up the injury during his team’s 17-29 loss to the Waratahs last weekend.

Ruan Vermaak joined Lions in Melbourne on Sunday to replace Tshituka for the remainder of the tour.

The Lions will face the Melbourne Rebels in Melbourne in Round Six.

They will finish their tour in New Zealand with matches against the Blues (Auckland, March 14) and Highlanders (Dunedin, March 21).

The Lions are fourth in the South African Conference with one win from their four matches so far.
