WATCH as the Cheetahs and the Hurricanes produced a spectacle of running rugby in Bloemfontein in 2011.

It was a thriller at the Free State Stadium with 11 tries scored in the 80 minutes.

However, the try that mattered most came in the dying moments from Hurricanes forward Jeremy Thrush.

The visitors edged the match 50-47 with that final try.

Scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius was the star performer for the Cheetahs that day with three tries, while Hosea Gear got a brace for the travelling side.

In the overall standings that year, which the first season of the new 15-team format, the Hurricanes finished ninth and the Cheetahs 11th.
