Melbourne gets another Super round
NEWS: Super Rugby Pacific’s biggest weekend is locked to go back to Melbourne for the third time in 2024.
Super Round Melbourne is set to take place in the first week of March.
It comes hot off the heels of a packed 83,944 crowd filling the MCG in the Bledisloe Cup, the largest Australian rugby crowd in 20 years.
From Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3, Melbourne will again showcase itself as a hub of entertainment and sport with the third edition set to delight rugby fans all across the state, as well as visitors from across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
With an increase in fans attending Super Round in 2023, up from the inaugural 2022, it is expected that numbers will continue to grow as rugby fans continue to get behind this special weekend.
The opening day will see an all-Australian clash with the hometown Rebels facing off against the Force, right after the Highlanders battle the Blues to officially kick off the third instalment of the popular round.
On Saturday, fans will get to see crowd favourites the Fijian Drua and Moana Pasifika clash, before back-to-back Super Rugby Pacific Champions, the Crusaders, play the Waratahs in what shapes to be a headline act.
While on Sunday, the final doubleheader sees last year’s runners-up the Chiefs face the Brumbies, followed by the Hurricanes tackling the Reds.
