Montero itching to play Super Rugby
Montero was out of the game for much of 2015 after suffering a knee ligament and cartilage injury and will also miss opening stages of Super Rugby as he is gradually returning to the usual training pace.
However, the 24-year-old is keen to make an impact when he does return to the playing field.
"While I'm working on the physical side with the boys and I am also eager to join rugby side of things and start playing ball," says Montero.
"I'm running, feeling very confident and happy because the trainers pleased with my progress."
Montero admitted it was hard sitting on the side-lines last year, especially during the Rugby Championship and World Cup.
"I missed training with the group and living day to day with the team. The many things I missed last year was a blow," he added.
Montero says being part of Super Rugby is a dream come true. He also believes the Jaguares can go all the way in the tournament.
"It's a dream. When we were kids, watching Super Rugby was like watching the NBA. It is something tremendous, we are excited and eager to start playing."
Montero is expected to return to the playing field by the end of March or early April.
