Aside from appointing a former All Black Tony Brown as the new coach, the Japanese franchise have also lured two New Zealanders Rene Ranger and Phil Burleigh to the country.

All Black Ranger joins the Sunwolves from French Top 14 side Stade Rochelais, while the Scotland international Burleigh joins form Pro14 team Edinburgh Rugby.

Both players have Super Rugby experiences, aside from Ranger’s six All Blacks Test caps, the utility back the Blues while New Zealand-born Burleigh previously played for the Chiefs and the Highlanders before heading to Scotland.

Sunwolves star flyhalf Hayden Parker and hooker Jaba Bregvadze have opted to extend their stay with the Japanese team.
