Northern pre-season invasion

The final week before the Super Rugby season sees many teams wrapping up their preparations with the biggest game being the Sharks going up against Toulon.

It all kicks off on Thursday for the Sharks as they take on the French and European champions in what should be a cracker of a match if the  talk surrounding the game is anything to go by.

Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal said of the Sharks that he had seen the Jaws movies and was "not afraid",  when CEO John Smit challenged Toulon to the match.Northern pre-season invasion

The Highlanders continue their bumper packed pre-season schedule with a game against the Rebels in Melbourne on the same day.

On Friday, the majority of the pre-season games will kick off as the Blues host the Hurricanes, the Reds take on the Crusaders and finally, last year's champions the Waratahs, take on the champions from 2012 and 2013 – the Chiefs.

The weekend rounds off with the Stormers taking on the Boland Cavaliers at the Cape Town stadium on Saturday.
