Pietersen in for injured Mvovo
Mvovo suffered an ankle injury in the win over the Southern Kings last week.
He will be available for selection for next week's match against the Stormers in Cape Town.
Pietersen will be the most capped Sharks Super Rugby player on the field on Saturday, with 121 caps.
There is also a welcome return for one-time Springbok Stephan Lewies to the second row, after recovering from a long-term injury.
Those are the only two changes to the starting line-up.
The Sharks will be aiming for a fifth win in a row for the first time since a run of five on the bounce across the 2013 and 2014 seasons;.
They have also won 20 of their last 24 matches when hosting a team from outside of South Africa.
