Punching Triggs gets one week off
Blues lock Hayden Triggs has been suspended for a week for punching Stormers captain Duane Vermeulen in their Super Rugby match in Cape Town.
Triggs was red-carded for the offence, which took place in the 24th minute.
The SANZAR judicial officer says the incident is a low-range offence which stipulates a two-week suspension.
But the ban has been reduced by a week due to Triggs' prompt admission of guilt, remorse for his actions and excellent disciplinary record in over 10 years of playing professional rugby.
Hayden Triggs will miss this weekend's match against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein.
