Rebels star in hot water

DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Bill Meakes of the Rebels will appear at a SANZAAR judicial committee hearing, after being cited for foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

Meakes is alleged to have contravened Law 9.13: A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously.

The incident took place in the 66th minute of the match between the Rebels and Sunwolves in Melbourne on Saturday, April 6.

The Rebels won 42-15.

The chairman for the hearing has yet to be confirmed, but other panel members will be De Wet Barry and Chris Smith.

The hearing will take place on Monday.
