However, no sanction has been imposed on the player.

Scrafton received two yellow cards during the match between the Chiefs and Hurricanes in Hamilton this past Sunday.

The first yellow card offence was for a breach of Law 9.8 – repeated team infringements.

The second yellow card offence was for a breach of Law 9.7a – intentional offending (cynical foul).

A Player who receives two yellow cards in a match is awarded a red card.

The SANZAAR foul play review committee held via video conference on Monday – chaired by Adam Casselden, assisted by Mike Mika and Stefan Terblanche.

In his finding, the foul play review committee Chairman Adam Casselden ruled the following: “The foul play review committee conducted a detailed review of all the available evidence, including all camera angles, and additional evidence from the player and submissions from his legal representative, Aaron Lloyd.

“With respect to sanction the foul play review committee ruled, after considering a number of factors, including the player’s exemplary disciplinary record and the nature of offending in relation to the yellow card offences, that the player’s ordering off merited no further sanction.

“The player is, therefore, free to play and will serve no suspension.”
