Reds bulk up club competition
A number of Reds player are set to return to their respective Premier clubs this weekend, to bolster the competition for the weekend.
Across four matches, 14 of the current Reds squad and a further six players from the Reds Wider Training Squad (WTS) will be in action around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Reds coach Richard Graham said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing Reds players in action for their clubs this Saturday.
"It is important for the squad to remain match fit and to keep working hard ahead of our Super Rugby match against the Rebels on June 27.
“The Premier Rugby competition is an important part of the fabric of Queensland Rugby and we are continuing to support and develop the competition.
“Many players within the current Reds squad were selected following strong performances in Premier Rugby including recent debutants Jamie-Jerry Taulagi and Samuela Kerevi, who were two of the 2013 competition’s best performers.
“Premier Rugby is a crucial element of the Rugby pathway in Queensland and while I’m looking forward to seeing the current Reds in action for their clubs this Saturday, I’m also excited to see new talent emerge from Premier Rugby’s ranks.”
Graham will head to the Gold Coast on Saturday to keep an eye on some of his charges while assistant coaches Nick Stiles, Steve Meehan and Peter Wilkins will attend the other three Premier Rugby games in Brisbane.
