Reds to replicate Wallabies' intensity

The Wallabies reached the World Cup Final only to lose to the might All Blacks. However, Kerevi believes Australia's intensity in games throughout the tournament has set the standard for all Aussie teams to follow.

"The Wallabies were outstanding in the World Cup. Unfortunately they did not win the cup," said Kerevi.

"They set a high standard for the rest of the world. For us in Queensland we want to bring the intensity the Wallabies had shown and to just give something to Super Rugby from Queensland's side of things. We know we can get there and we just got to work hard."

After the disappoint of this year's Super Rugby campaign where the Reds finished fourth in the Australian conference and 13th on the Reds to replicate Wallabies' intensitycombined standings, Kerevi knows how important the current pre-season will be to lay the foundations for a successful 2016 season.

"We will have a meeting soon to find out who we are and we will be wanting to go back to the old Reds way – how we used to play, so that is going to be really important for us.

"It wasn't the season we hoped for but we have to stick together and trust what the coaches are saying and everything they put in for us players. We just got to take it on the head and work hard this pre-season.

"A lot of players want to be better and this pre-season is the time to work on our little skills. We want to work on conditioning and every aspect of the game. Next year is definitely something for us to work on and pre-season is the time to do it," Kerevi added.

Kerevi also set personal goals for himself going into the next four-year cycle ahead of the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

"For myself I just want to get better. I don't want to be happy with what I have done this year and I want to take it to the next level. For me it's about putting the best foot forward for the team and I got no aspirations just for myself.

"I got goals that I have set for the next four years. It's the first pre-season where I have not been injured so I am just glad to be fully fit."

Reds coach Richard Graham got a lot of criticism for his team's performances this year and it was a surprise when it was announced that he would remain in the position for the 2016 season.

However, Kerevi has faith in the man who spotted him at club level.

"We all backing Richard. We got full faith in him. He picked me up from club so I have to repay that favour to him. For myself and the team we just backing Richard [Graham] 100%," said Kerevi.
