Reds want that winning feeling
The Brisbane-based side struggled in the past few seasons and have also lost a number of experienced players in the last year. However, Neville, who joined the Reds from the Melbourne Rebels, believes a win against the Force will be crucial in trying to lift the spirits in the city.
"When you get a win at home you are going to please a lot of people and if you don't a lot of people are going to continue to put the knife in," said Neville.
"We want to please as many people as we can."
Neville believes the team, which is littered with youngsters, needs some time to gel in order for them to reach their full potential.
"I guess with a young side and with newer combinations as well it won't be as natural as those who have played for a couple of years, but hopefully we can get that sorted.
"You can't doubt the effort and fight from the boys even when points were scored against us [in the Tahs match]," he added.
Like Neville, Japan star Ayumu Goromaru is in his first season with the Reds and Neville believes he has fitted in quite well, despite the language barrier.
"I had a little bit of experience with Japanese players coming to Australia when I was with the Rebels," said Neville.
"It is always interesting to see how well they do, considering that they have to learn the language and the football at the same time. I think he is doing a great job at the moment."
