Sadie on the run again?

Bulls centre Johann Sadie is reportedly unhappy at Loftus Versfeld and has been given permission to look for another province to play for.

The elusive outside centre signed a lucrative contract with the Bulls less than a year ago, but has struggled with injury this season and faces stiff competition for a starting place in Pretoria.

Sadie's former Western Province teammate JJ Engelbrecht made the move from the Cape at the same time as Sadie and has impressed in the No.13 jersey this season, earning a call-up to the Springbok squad.

The Bulls also have a very strong crop of young centres coming through their ranks with recent Baby Boks Francois Venter and Jan Serfontein the most high-profile of the talented bunch.

Bulls coach Frans Ludeke told Supersport that Sadie has become frustrated with his lack of opportunities and was keen to find a team that can guarantee him playing time.

He said: "We are very aware of Johann's situation and his future and he is concerned that he isn't getting the playing opportunities he needs because of injuries. He wants to get onto the field to establish himself but is worried he can't at the moment.

"We will always look at a player's situation and take it to heart. We will always consult with the player and take the best decision for his career going forward.

"We have given him the green light to look at other options to see if he can get better playing opportunities at other provinces," added Ludeke.
