Sharks will not face Carter
Dan Carter will not take part in the Crusaders second tour match against the Sharks in Durban this weekend after he flew home on Tuesday.
Carter returned to New Zealand on paternity leave to await the birth of his second child.
He has been replaced in the Crusaders' traveling squad by outside back Nathanial Apa.
The Crusaders still have plenty of strong options at flyhalf, with Colin Slade the likely candidate to take over the No.10 jersey from the legendary All Black.
Slade shifted to the bench for Carter against the Bulls in Pretoria last weekend, however a week previous to that, Slade took up the flyhalf berth with Carter at No.12.
