However, it was later confirmed that the fullback suffered from an inner ear problem which resulted in vertigo.

Meanwhile, Dane Coles could be fit for the semifinal if the defending champions the Hurricanes reach that stage of the competition.

Hooker Coles missed the British and Irish Lions Test series and a bulk of the Super Rugby season due to his ongoing battle with concussion symptoms.

Coles, a World Player of the Year finalist last year, now close to being ready for a return to action as he works through an intense conditioning period.

"He's had so much time off," All Blacks coach Hansen told Stuff.

"He's had 3-4 months where he just didn't do anything. We've got to graduate him back into training, and full contact, and be sensible about it,"

"Mentally he's a tough kid, so he'd play tomorrow if you let him. But that's not the sensible thing to do. He's totally unconditioned to play rugby, so we've got to re-condition him. The Hurricanes are well aware of what we've been doing and where we need to go. There's a good plan in place," he added.
