Stokkies available for Cheetahs clash

Lions centre Nicolaas Hanekom has been cleared to play, after recovering from a knee injury sustained just before the Currie Cup play-offs last year.

Hanekom has made one appearance this year, playing off the bench for eight minutes in Round One.

It will be a tough task for the fit again midfielder to break up the incumbent centres, with young Harold Vorster and Lionel Mapoe linking up well together.

Howard Mnisi has also been a more than capable replacement coming off the bench.

Wing Mark Richards is also available for selection, after his Super Rugby debut was cut short thanks to a massive collision with Sharks flank Willem Alberts.

The Sevens Springbok was left dazed and concussed, but has recovered well.

Unfortunately Malcolm Marx (ankle), Steph de Wit (shoulder), Rohan Janse van Rensburg (ankle) and Martin Muller (calf) are all unavailable for selection this week, but are still involved in intensive recovery programmes.

On a positive note, Courtnall Skosan (ankle) and Sampie Mastriet (ankle) have also been cleared to play, offering the Lions plenty of options on the wing.
