The loss of Kriel and Jooste is not the kind of news Stormers fans want to hear.
Jooste, 22, is a former South Africa Under-20 star who made his Super Rugby debut for the Stormers against the Lions in 2019.
Kriel, 21, is a versatile player who can play fullback and centre. He is also a formidable figure in the backline as he stands at 1.94m and weighs 94kg.
Earlier this month it was confirmed that Springbok fullback Warrick Gelant will be joining the Stormers.
