Team of the Week – Round 10:
15 – Melani Nanai (Blues):
He was devasting with ball in hand again. He beat a number of defenders and scored one of his team’s tries.
Bubbling under: Kurtley Beale (Waratahs)
14 – Matt Faddes (Highlanders):
A consistent hard worker in the Highlanders team. He had a few good runs and scored a great intercept try against the Blues.
Bubbling under: Caleb Clarke (Blues)
13 – Adam Ashley-Cooper (Waratahs):
He made a number of clean breaks against the Rebels. The veteran was also a rock in defence.
Bubbling under: Sio Tomkinson (Highlanders)
12 – Samu Kerevi (Reds):
He was the man of the match in his side’s victory over the Sharks. He was a hard man to bring down and quite physical in the midfield. His neat offload set up his team’s second try of the game.
Bubbling under: Rahboni Warren Vosayaco (Sunwolves)
11 – Semisi Masirewa (Sunwolves):
He was simply outstanding once again with ball in hand against the Hurricanes. He notched up over 140 running metres and scored two tries.
Bubbling under: Rieko Ioane (Blues)
10 – Bernard Foley (Waratahs):
His defence was not perfect, but his play with ball in hand and decision making, especially in the second half against the Rebels, was excellent.
Bubbling under: Christian Lealiifano (Brumbies)
9 – Tate McDermott (Reds):
He kept the Sharks’ defence on their toes with a few sniping runs and his tactical play was good.
Bubbling under: Will Genia (Melbourne Rebels)
8 – Warren Whiteley (Lions):
It was an impressive return from the captain. He led by example against the Chiefs with his carries and tackles and his neat grubber put Aphiwe Dyantyi on his way for a try.
Bubbling under: Elliot Dixon (Highlanders)
7 – Cyle Brink (Lions):
He had a high work rate against the Chiefs. He was aggressive on defence and a nuisance at the breakdowns.
Bubbling under: Liam Wright (Reds)
6 – Jahrome Brown (Brumbies):
The youngster put in a huge performance against the Stormers. He was a monster on defence and he won a few crucial turnovers as well.
Bubbling under: Tom Robinson (Blues)
5 – Izack Rodda (Reds):
He did a lot of the dirty work in the win over the Sharks and provided plenty of muscle up front.
Bubbling under: Marvin Orie (Lions)
4 – Rory Arnold (Brumbies):
He was a colossus at Newlands. He set up his team’s first try with an offload and then scored the second try after a charge down. He also made over 20 tackles in the match.
