Two stars to miss Bulls' trip to Newlands

The Bulls will be without the services of two of their star forwards when they travel to Newlands on Saturday for a Super Rugby derby showdown with the Stormers.

Flank Deon Stegmann and hooker Willie Wepener have been ruled out of contention as a result of injuries.

Bulls team doctor Org Strauss on Tuesday confirmed that Stegmann’s troublesome hamstring did not recover sufficiently to play in Cape Town.

Wepener picked up an infection of some facial muscle and was ruled unfit to play.

He will probably be replaced as back-up hooker by Bongi Mbonambi, a former South African Under-20 representative.

Coach Frans Ludeke will announce his team to play the Stormers on Wednesday.
