INJURY UPDATE: The Bulls returned to Loftus Versfeld after their warm-up against the Sharks with one injury concern.

Springboks hooker Schalk Brits strained his calf during the 7-all draw at Ashton College in Ballito on Saturday.

Team doctor Herman Rossouw revealed the 37-year-old’s progress will be monitored and the severity of the injury will be revealed later this week.

It’s not all doom and gloom for the Pretoria-based team. In regards to their long term injuries, Marnitz Boshoff; Marco van Staden, Edgar Marutlulle, Jaco Visagie and Travis Ismaiel are all making good progress with their rehabilitation programmes.

While Springbok duo RG Snyman and Duncan Matthews have undergone successful ankle surgeries and will be out for six and eight weeks respectively.

The Bulls open their Super Rugby campaign against the Stormers on Saturday.
