White: Brumbies' best result so far
Brumbies coach Jake White believes his team’s impressive 33-26 win over the Highlanders in Canberra on Saturday is the best result so far this season.
The Brumbies have made a good start to their campaign with victories over the Western Force and Cheetahs, and a narrow loss to the Chiefs before ending the Highlanders’ winning streak.
“They’re [The Highlanders] top of the log, they were unbeaten so obviously it’s one of our best results so far,” White said.
“I don’t want to sound too cliché about it, but it really is one game at a time for us, I’m just really proud that whatever we learnt last week we put into practice this week.
“We have exactly the same chances to finish the game out last week [against the Chiefs] and they took those lessons into the game against the Highlanders. That really impressed me.”
Brumbies captain Ben Mowen believs the victory is a result of the hard work put in by a team that is a tightly knit unit.
“We back ourselves, you can see from the way we play that there’s huge trust in each other,” Mowen said.
“The only way we’ve done that is by working hard and we trust that the work will pay off.”
