D-Day for Huget doping case

French wing Yoann Huget, of Bayonne, will attend a hearing at the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) on Thursday to decide whether he will face a further ban for missing three doping controls last season.

Back in August, the 24-year-old was excluded from the France squad ahead of the World Cup and banned for three months by the French Rugby Federaton (FFR) for breaking dope testing whereabout rules, whereby all players are required to make their movements known to officials so that drugs tests can be carried out.

Huget accepted that he was at fault, putting the missed tests down to negligence on his own behalf.

He returned to action at the end of last month and has played three matches since, but the AFLD could now opt to hand down a new ban of up to two years, in line with the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
