Currently thirteenth in the Top 14, the French club has been struggling this season and coming off yet another heavy defeat against Bordeaux.

The former hooker wore the pink jersey between 1997 and 2010 for more than a decade during his playing career.

The club has already sacked head coach Karim Ghezal this season, subsequently promoting Paul Gustard to the role.

“From this day on, the Stade Français Paris staff will be able to count on its former player, Mathieu Blin, a hooker at the club for thirteen seasons between 1997 and 2010, to provide his expertise in the scrum sector until the end of the 2024/2025 season,” a Stade Francais statement reads (translated by Google).

“Mathieu will thus support the current staff in this essential sector of conquest with a consulting role.

“He will work weekly with the professional team, only during training sessions and without being present on match days.”

Blin previously coached the forwards at Agen from 2012-2013. More recently he has been a consultant at Canal +.
