Wilko staying in Red and Black

Jonny Wilkinson has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Toulon, the new deal tying the former England flyhalf to the French Top 14 club until 2013.

The news comes at the end of a week in which the 32-year-old 2003 World Cup-winner called time on his England career, sparking a series of tribute’s to one of English rugby’s greats.

Wilkinson had said that he wpould continue to play for Toulon and he made that official on Saturday when the news was confirmed on the club’s website.

“Until now, Wilkinson had a contract until the end of this season, with an option to extend it by another season.

“This option has been exercised, which means ‘Wilko’ will be back in the Red and Black in 2013,” the statement read.
