Stander stands in for Baby Boks

Golden Lions lock Jannie Stander will replace the injured Jannes Kirsten in the Junior Springbok squad at the IRB Junior World Championship.

Kirsten sustained a fractured cheek bone in a training session on Saturday and was ruled out of action for approximately six weeks.

Stander was a member of the SA Under-20 training squad that played three away matches against Argentina earlier this year.

South Africa face Wales on Tuesday in Vannes in one of two Junior World Cup semifinals and coach Dawie Theron will name his match squad later on Monday.

England take on New Zealand in the other semifinal after the Baby Boks take on the Welsh.
