U19 European Championship

The Under-19 European Championship kicks off in Coimbra, Portugal, this weekend. There are eight countries taking part.
 
The winner of the tournament which ends on 31 October will have earned a place at the Junior World Rugby Trophy in 2010.
 
The countries taking part are Belgium, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Russia and Spain. That there are eight teams means that the opening round is also a quarterfinal.
