'An abrasive player': WP lose promising flank
TRANSFER NEWS: The Western Province have lost one of their most promising loose forwards, as Jarrod Taylor heads to Wales.
The 22-year-old flank has signed with United Rugby Championship side Scarlets.
Taylor has linked up with the squad with immediate effect.
He met up with his new teammates at Parc y Scarlets on Monday morning having signed a contract for the remainder of the current season and beyond.
A former South African Schools international, Taylor has been playing Currie Cup rugby for Western Province, scoring four tries in six starts.
Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel said: “Jarrod is a player who has impressed us with his performances in the Currie Cup and has an outstanding pedigree in South African schools rugby.
“He is an abrasive player, with and without the ball and is strong in the contact area. He will add to the young group of back rows we already have at the club.”
