DISCIPLINARY NEWS: Cardiff centre Rey Lee-Lo has been handed a four-week suspension following their 12-16 defeat to Connacht in Round 10 of the United Rugby Championship.

The centre Lee-Lo was red-carded in the 15th minute by Italian referee Andrea Piardi following a dangerous, high challenge on Connacht wing Shayne Bolton.

The centre was sanctioned under Law 9.13 – A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders.

The Panel overseeing the disciplinary process Achille Reali found that the actions of Lee-Lo met the red card threshold, with an entry of low-range, warranting six weeks.

The centre accepted that he had committed an act of foul play which warranted a Red Card.

He received an increase of one week for aggravating factors (previous offender of the same Law 9.13) and three weeks mitigation due to his acceptance of guilt, immediate remorse and apology which resulted in a four-game suspension.
