The utility back went following a solid tackle by Lions prop Asenathi Ntlabakanye.

He continued to play on but ultimately went down in a heap and was eventually replaced by Jean Luc du Plessis.

Dobson said that the extent of the injury is unknown and the timeline could vary regarding the severity of the hit.

“He’s got a hip pointer, I don’t know what it is but it is what it is,” Dobson said.

“I said it would’ve been nice to get him to half-time.
