Alarm bells for Munster as Leinster issue squad update
NEWS: Leinster head coach Leo Cullen has issued an injury update ahead of Saturday’s United Rugby Championship semifinal against Munster at Lansdowne Road in Dublin.
The good news for Leinster is that Ireland internationals Joe McCarthy and Rónan Kelleher are available for selection.
“Joe McCarthy came through the game at the weekend with no issues after his recovery from an ankle injury,” said a Leinster statement.
“Rónan Kelleher was involved in the wider matchday squad at the weekend and will be available to train fully this week after his recovery from a shoulder injury.”
Meanwhile, Leinster are facing a waiting game with a few of their other stars.
The Irish club said Scott Penny (concussion), Robbie Henshaw (quad), James Lowe (calf) and Cian Healy (ankle) all require further assessment.
“Scott Penny has entered the Graduated Return to Play Protocols and will be further assessed as the week progresses,” the statement added.
“Robbie Henshaw is expected to step up his rehabilitation from a minor quad issue this week and will be further assessed as the week progresses.
“James Lowe is expected to step up his rehabilitation from a calf injury and will be further assessed as the week progresses.
“Cian Healy picked up an ankle injury against Sharks and will be further assessed.”
