Fans reveal their URC Player of the Season

AWARDS: Manie Libbok has been recognised in the United Rugby Championship Awards by being voted the Fans’ Player of the Season.

The 25-year-old Stormers flyhalf finished the regular campaign as the leading points-scorer with 167 from 16 appearances.

He added a further 18 to that tally with a 100 percent success rate from the tee with three conversions and four penalties as the Stormers advanced to the semifinals by beating the Bulls 33-21 in Cape Town.

As the Stormers secured their URC Grand Final spot, Libbok added an additional 23 points with two tries, five conversions and one penalty in their semifinal against Connacht

Libbok was named the Player of the Match after helping the Stormers move a step closer to retaining their title in front of 47 261 at the Cape Town Stadium in the URC semifinal.

The Coach of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season are to be revealed next week in the build-up to the Grand Final on Saturday May 27.

The Stormers will be hosting Munster in that match at the Cape Town Stadium.
