INJURY UPDATE: Munster are set to be without a key player for their crunch United Rugby Championship clash with the Stormers in Limerick on Saturday.

The match will be a repeat of last season’s Final in Cape Town which Munster won 19-14.

Ahead of Saturday’s replay, the Irish Province revealed that hooker Diarmuid Barron, who captained his team against Ulster last weekend, will follow the graduated return-to-play protocols after being removed from play and failing a Head Injury Assessment.

It’s a blow for Munster as they are still without Nial Scannell in the position as he is out with a groin injury.

Meanwhile, wing Liam Coombes suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Garryowen and will see a specialist this week for review.

Players that are continuing with their rehab include RG Snyman (chest/shoulder), Joey Carbery (wrist), Patrick Campbell (ankle), Roman Salanoa (knee), Mike Haley (hip), Cian Hurley (ankle/achilles) and Scannell (groin).

The Stormers are entering the match after losing both of their tour matches so far.

They opened their tour with a 9-20 defeat to Glasgow before going down 17-20 to Benetton in Treviso.
