Normality returns to Loftus: Jake is back
IN THE SPOTLIGHT: The return of Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White has been accompanied by a different ‘energy’ at Loftus Versfeld, according to star wing Cornal Hendricks.
White rejoined the Bulls last week after a four-week lay-off from an emergency abdominal surgery on January 8.
The World Cup-winning coach consequently missed two Champions Cup fixtures (a 39-28 win over Exeter Chiefs and a 7-31 loss to Lyon) and a 28-37 United Rugby Championship loss to the Scarlets.
In his absence, assistant coaches Russell Winter and Chris Rossouw shared the main coaching duties.
It was a very unfortunate period for the Bulls.
However this weekend White will have the perfect #WelcomebackJake celebration when his side hosts the Stormers in the crunch North-South URC derby.

Speaking to reporters, Hendricks said the return of White brings ‘normality’ to the team.
“It’s very good to have coach Jake back,” the 34-year-old said.
“He brings a different energy.
“He is the type of rugby brain that plays a big role in all of us and his creativity makes a big difference.
“When he is here, everything feels as it should be.
“I know he had to rest, but he doesn’t always do that and was sharing plans with us during his four-week rest.
“So it’s nice to have him back.”
Hendricks admitted White’s presence forced the team to be on top of their game.
“He’s always a step ahead for us and the opponents,” he said.
“It’s nice to have his energy around us and [as a player] you know that when he’s present you have to be spot on what you need to do.”
The Bulls will be out to record their first URC win over Stormers this Saturday at Loftus Versfeld.
