PICTURES: SA's URC teams hitting the pre-season hard
With most of the rugby stars’ attention solely focused on the 2023 World Cup, the rest of the stars has been extremely busy with pre-season training.
The United Rugby Championship season kicks off on October 21 with some big matches headlining the first round.
The Lions host last season’s finalist the Stormers at Ellis Park, while the Sharks open their campaign against 2023 championsย Munster in Ireland and the Bulls take on Scarlets at Loftus Versfeld.
It’s a big season for all four South African franchises with the additional task of competing for the European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.
