Sharks coach on Edinburgh clash: 'It is extremely frustrating'
REACTION: Sharks head coach Sean Everitt said his team were just not clinical enough in their United Rugby Championship Round 14 clash against Edinburgh on Saturday.
The Scottish club side outscored the Sharks by three tries to one for a valuable 21-5 win at a soaking wet Kings Park in Durban.
The home side boasted 64 percent possession and 70 percent territory in the first half, but they couldn’t convert their dominance in points with Edinburgh going into the break 7-0 ahead.
With Curwin Bosch off target with the boot, the Sharks’ only points of the game came via a Thomas du Toit try in the second half.
“There was a lot of individual errors out there,” Everitt told reporters after the game.
“I think credit must go to Edinburgh in the way they kept us out defensively.
“We got our maul going at times and we got momentum, but we just couldn’t get over the line and credit to them [Edinburgh] for that.
“It is extremely frustrating when you create opportunities and you can’t finish.
“In these games against top teams, you need to take every opportunity and you certainly need to take the points when they are on offer.”

Everitt added: “I thought our plan worked quite well.
“We had patience in our kicking game, although we overcooked our box kicks at times, which gave them space to counterattack. “A good example is the build-up to the try scored by [Emiliano] Boffelli.
“We got ourselves in a good position on the field, but we just weren’t clinical enough to round them off.”

When asked if the weather conditions were a big factor, Everitt responded: “It is a factor, but I can’t blame the weather for the loss.
“Edinburgh had three opportunities to score and they took advantage of all three and we didn’t.
“We got the territory advantage and we put ourselves in good field position and at times we never kicked our penalties and at times we missed touch.
“Those are things you need to execute well to put the opposition under pressure.”
